LEED, Green Associate

LEED Green Associate is the introductory level of accreditation and sets you apart from your competition as a green building expert. This course covers all required areas to be successful on the Green Associate Exam, including: Site, water, energy, materials, air quality, and design innovation. In addition, becoming a LEED Green Associate is the mandatory first step for any individual interested in pursuing a specialized LEED Accredited Professional AP Credential. As a part of this course, students also will focus on plans, bidding, estimation, and other technical information related to construction technologies, and office related construction positions.

This instructor-led course prepares students for the LEED GA Certification exam and Green Building Technologies. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system that provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at increasing performance, reducing waste, and improving quality of life.
This course focuses on real-world knowledge and practical skills for the workforce.

Who is behind LEED?

The U.S. Green Building Council, or USGBC, is an organization of stakeholders, including 13,000 member organizations, 77 chapters, and 181,000 LEED professionals. USGBC created the LEED Rating System in 1999, which has since grown to become the most widely recognized and used green building program in the world.

USGBC continues focusing to develop the LEED standard and growing the LEED brand, while its subsidiary organization, the Green Building Certification Institute, or GBCI, is in charge of LEED Building Certification and LEED Professional Accreditation programs. Though separate, the two organizations are connected through the LEED Online system.
